Begin with steady reel turns along cover edges or through open water, then adjust speed while keeping the blades working.

Try a slower retrieve on one pass and a brief speed change on the next. Use rod position and reel speed to adjust the presentation, keeping an open path around heavier cover.

If adding a soft-plastic trailer, choose one that fits the hook and rig it straight. Match your rod's lure rating to the combined weight of the spinnerbait and trailer. Check for debris or a shifted trailer if the bait starts running unevenly.

Care

Inspect the wire frame, blade attachments, swivels, hook point, knot, and line before fishing and after contact with cover. Rinse as needed after use and dry thoroughly before storage. Keep the skirt untangled and protect the frame from being crushed by other tackle.
