Match your rod's lure rating to the full rigged weight, including the 1 oz head and your chosen bait.

Make a short test retrieve to check the bait's movement and tracking. Begin with steady reel turns over offshore structure or along open cover edges. Adjust your countdown, retrieve speed, and rod position to explore different depths without dragging the rig into obstructions.

Try a brief speed change, then return to a steady swim and watch how the bait responds. If the rig starts running unevenly, check for debris, a shifted bait, or interference with the bill. Inspect the knot, line, hook, and keeper after a fish or contact with cover.

Care

Check the bill and wire keeper for damage before fishing. Replace torn soft plastics and inspect the hook point regularly. Rinse as needed after use and dry thoroughly before storage.
