Lew's American Hero Baitcast Combo 7' Medium Right Hand

Lew's American Hero Baitcast Combo 7-Foot Medium

The Lew's American Hero Baitcast Combo pairs a rod and baitcasting reel in one freshwater setup. This listing features a 7-foot, Medium-power rod and a right-hand-retrieve reel for anglers who turn the handle with their right hand.

Use the combo for everyday freshwater fishing, matching your line and complete rigged lure weight to the ratings printed on the rod and the reel's capacity guidance. Medium describes the rod's power, not a specific lure-weight range.

Setup and Casting

Check that the reel is securely seated and thread line through every guide. Spool according to the reel's instructions, staying within its recommended capacity. Choose line and a lure within the ratings shown on the equipment, including any added sinker, hook, or trailer in the total casting weight.

Before the first cast, set spool tension and braking according to the reel's instructions for the lure you are using. Begin with conservative braking and short, controlled casts in an open area. Use your thumb to control the spool and stop it as the lure lands, then make small adjustments as you get comfortable.

Set drag to suit the rod, line, knots, and hook rather than tightening it fully. Keep the rod at a manageable angle when fighting fish and use a net or suitable landing tool instead of lifting a fish by the rod.

Care and Storage

Wipe down the rod and reel after fishing and let them dry before storage. Check guides for damage and inspect the line for wear. Keep the rod clear of doors and other pinch points, and follow Lew's instructions for reel cleaning and lubrication.
