How to Fish It

Thread the bait straight onto a suitably sized hook or jighead, keeping the hook point clear and leaving the rear of the bait free to move. A crooked body can make the rig spin, so check it beside the boat or shoreline before casting.

For a swimming presentation, use a steady retrieve with occasional pauses and small rod-tip movements. Let the bait settle deeper when fish are holding below the surface, and adjust your retrieve speed to maintain the depth you want.

For a bottom-oriented drift, use enough weight to reach the feeding zone while keeping the rig moving with the current. Lift gently to check bottom contact rather than dragging continuously through obstructions. Keep the complete rigged weight within your rod's lure rating and inspect the leader after contact with rough bottom.

Storage and Care

Keep unused baits in their original packaging and follow the package's storage directions. Protect them from drying out, and keep them separate from other soft-bait materials unless compatibility is confirmed. Rinse and dry hooks and jigheads after saltwater use.
