The Big Bite Baits Cane Thumper is a 4-inch soft-plastic swimbait with a thumping paddle tail. Hook pockets along the top, bottom, and sides help the body collapse when a fish bites, while giving you options for fitting the bait to your rig.

Swim it on a weighted hook or jighead, use it as a swim-jig or bladed-jig trailer, or build a compatible umbrella-rig presentation. Each pack contains seven baits.

How to Fish It

Rig the Cane Thumper straight on a compatible jighead or weighted hook. Match the hook to the body, leave the gap clear, and make sure the tail can move freely. For a cover-oriented presentation, lightly tuck the point where appropriate; this reduces hook exposure but does not eliminate snags.

Begin with a steady retrieve along an open cover edge or above the bottom. Adjust weight, countdown, and retrieve speed to find the depth you want. Try a short pause or acceleration between stretches of steady swimming.

As a swim-jig or bladed-jig trailer, seat the nose securely on the keeper and check that the body and tail do not interfere with the jig’s movement. Test the rig nearby before making longer casts.

On an umbrella rig, check bait spacing and use tackle rated for the complete casting weight, including the rig, jigheads, and baits. Inspect for fouled hooks or tails after each retrieve.

Care and Storage

Check the nose, hook pockets, and tail for tears after each fish. Re-rig or replace baits that will not stay straight or sit securely on the keeper. Store in the original packaging, away from prolonged heat and separate from other soft plastics.
