The Big Bite Baits Squirrel Tail Worm pairs a hook-holding head with a long, thin body for shaky-head fishing. Small rod movements work the body, while a floating plastic formula in the tail helps lift it away from the bottom.

When you want to work one spot without constantly moving the jig forward, start with gentle shakes and pauses. Choose the 4.5-inch or 6-inch version to change the profile; both sizes come in packs of ten.

How to Fish It

Rig the worm straight on a compatible shaky head, securing the nose without bunching or tearing it. Match the hook to the worm and leave enough clearance for the hook to work. Choose the lightest head that lets you follow bottom contact in the depth, wind, and current you are fishing.

Cast to an open bottom area or cover edge, let the jig settle, and make small rod-tip movements. Pause between shakes to give the tail time to rise. Keep the head close to the bottom rather than making every movement a large hop.

If the spot does not produce, drag the jig a short distance and repeat. Watch the line and stay alert for unexpected weight or slack. Reel into contact before setting the hook, and check the worm’s alignment after each fish or snag.

Care and Storage

Keep worms in their original packaging, separate from other soft plastics and away from prolonged heat. Inspect the nose for tears and replace worms that no longer hold securely on the jighead.
