The Bill Lewis Scope-Stik jerkbait uses a flared diving lip to produce an exaggerated darting action. Flattened sides reflect light and are designed to improve visibility on forward-facing sonar, giving you a bait to work with sharp turns and flashes during a twitch-and-pause retrieve.

A shifting casting weight helps with long casts, while Mustad UltraPoint Triple Grip treble hooks complete the lure. Choose the size, buoyancy, and depth model for the water you plan to fish; available combinations vary.

How to Fish It

Make a short test retrieve to check the lure’s action and behavior at rest. Use a few turns of the reel to get it working, then try short rod-tip twitches followed by pauses. Leave enough slack between twitches for the bait to dart rather than pulling it continuously in a straight line.

With a floating model, use pauses to let the lure rise. With a suspending model, test how it holds in your water before settling on a pause length. With a sinking model, use a controlled countdown to explore deeper water while keeping track of the lure and bottom.

Adjust cadence and pause length between casts. The listed depth ranges are a starting point; line, casting distance, retrieve, and conditions affect running depth. When using forward-facing sonar, track the bait and adjust your presentation without assuming it will appear equally clearly on every setup.

Care and Storage

Inspect the lip, hook points, and hook connections after fish or contact with hard structure. Clear fouled hooks before the next cast. Let the lure dry before storage and use hook covers or a separate compartment to contain the exposed trebles.
