How to Fish It
Mount the reel on a compatible baitcasting rod and choose line, knots, and a bait rig suited to the conditions. Adjust spool tension and casting controls according to the reel's instructions, then begin with controlled casts using thumb pressure to manage spool speed.
For stationary catfish bait fishing, secure the rod in a suitable holder and use the clicker as an audible indication of line movement. A clicker is not a substitute for properly setting the drag or following the reel's spool-control instructions. With circle hooks, let steady pressure load the rod rather than making a sharp hookset.
Set fighting drag for the weakest part of your tackle system, not automatically to the full 40 lb maximum. Let the drag work during runs, avoid cranking against a slipping spool, and inspect line and connections after each fish.
