A Chugging Frog for Pockets and Grass Edges

The Invasive Lures Chuggerknot pairs a skirted hollow body with an inverted cone face that produces bubbles and a deep popping sound. Fish it around pads, shoreline cover, and openings in vegetation when you want a more pronounced surface disturbance than a walking frog.

Its soft silicone-latex body compresses under pressure, with VMC hooks positioned around the body's shape. An internal weight attaches directly to the hook to help balance the bait, while the skirt flares and pulses as you pop and pause it.

Construction and Details

  • Inverted cone face designed for a bubbling, chugging presentation.
  • Soft, collapsible silicone-latex hollow body.
  • VMC hooks with a body shaped around the hook gap and angle.
  • Internal weight secured directly to the hook.
  • Flexible skirt that adds movement during retrieves and pauses.
  • Designed for targeting largemouth bass and snakehead around surface cover.

Color Options

Caution, Grim Green, Cain Toad, Black Bird, and Crime Scene.

How to Fish It

Use a frog-capable rod and braided line matched to the vegetation you're fishing. Cast past a grass opening or pad edge, let the surface settle, then use a short rod pull to make the face chug. Recover slack without dragging the bait continuously, and pause between pops to work a small opening deliberately.

Start with a pop-and-pause retrieve. Try a steady chugging rhythm when fish are active, or lengthen the pauses when they follow without committing. On solid mats, move the frog to an opening before working its popping face against the water.

After a blowup, wait until you feel the fish load the line before setting the hook firmly. Inspect the hook alignment, body, and knot after fish or heavy cover contact, and allow the lure to dry before storing it.
