Copper Red Baits Jonah 1:17 Jerkbait 4-Inch 3/8 oz

A Baitfish Profile for Twitch-and-Pause Retrieves

The Copper Red Baits Jonah 1:17 Jerkbait pairs a streamlined 4-inch body with darting and gliding action. Short rod-tip movements change its direction, while pauses let you break up the retrieve when bass are following rather than committing.

At 3/8 oz, this hard jerkbait features an internal weight transfer casting system and treble hooks. Work it around points, grass edges, docks, and open-water structure when freshwater bass are feeding on baitfish.

How to Fish It

Cast along a grass edge or across a point, then reel to bring the bait below the surface. Use one or two short twitches followed by a pause, leaving a little slack after each twitch so the lure can dart rather than simply pull straight ahead.

Start with longer pauses in cold water or when fish seem reluctant, and try a quicker cadence when bass are actively chasing bait. Watch the line during pauses and reel into contact when it moves or you feel a fish. Keep the exposed trebles clear of thick vegetation, and adjust your retrieve after observing how the lure behaves beside the boat or bank.
