Target Species

Tilefish, grouper, halibut, lingcod, cod, sand dabs. Also effective as a light-duty kite reel when needed.

How to Fish It

Connect to a 12V marine battery or electric reel power supply. Load with 40–50lb braid for the best balance of capacity and strength for deep drop targeting tilefish and grouper at 400–800 feet. The compact form factor pairs naturally with a light deep drop rod for a handheld setup that’s far more fishable than a traditional mounted electric. Use variable speed for slow, controlled drops to target depth and faster retrieves to pull fish efficiently from deep structure.
