Matt Arey Tournament Series Do-All-Unit Spinning Rod

The Pulse Fish Do-All-Unit is a 7-foot-2-inch spinning rod with medium power and an extra-fast action. Part of the Matt Arey Tournament Series, it is designed for finesse swimbait heads, shaky heads, drop shots, wacky worms, Ned rigs, and tubes.

The 1/8–5/8 oz lure range lets you build several finesse presentations around one rod. A Japanese Toray 40T high-modulus carbon fiber blank with Pulse MDML technology is paired with Fuji K-concept guides, a graphite Team Pulse reel seat, and a custom high-density EVA grip.

Setup and Fishing Guidance

Pair the rod with a compatible spinning reel and follow the line rating printed on the rod when selecting your setup. Count the soft plastic, hook or jighead, sinker, and other components toward the full 1/8–5/8 oz lure rating.

For shaky heads, Ned rigs, and tubes, start with short bottom movements separated by pauses. With a drop shot, let the weight settle and use small rod-tip movements to work the bait without constantly moving the sinker.

Watch the line as a wacky worm falls, recovering slack before setting the hook. Swim a finesse swimbait with steady reel turns and check that it is rigged straight. Match drag pressure and hookset to the hook style and line rather than using the same force for every rig.

Care

Inspect the blank, guide inserts, reel seat, and line before fishing. Wipe the rod down after use and dry before storage. Protect the tip in transit, avoid sharply bending it under load, and land fish with a net instead of lifting them by the rod.
