How to Fish It
Snell or tie the hook to a leader suited to your catfish setup. Seat the knot carefully at the eye and test the connection before adding bait. Keep the point and hook gap exposed so the bait does not interfere with the hook rotating into position.
Let the fish take up tension, then reel steadily as the rod loads. Avoid a sharp, sweeping hookset; steady pressure is the approach for fishing circle hooks. Maintain tension during the fight and inspect the hook and leader after landing a fish or contacting structure.
Care and Handling
Dry used hooks before storage and keep them separate from unused stock. After saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly. Replace hooks with bent points, damaged eyes, or corrosion, and secure exposed points when handling or transporting rigs.
