How to Fish It
Snell or tie the hook to a leader suited to your catfish setup. Seat the knot carefully at the eye and test the connection before fishing. Choose a bait portion that leaves the hook point and gap exposed rather than filling the curve with bait.
Let the fish take up tension, then reel steadily as the rod loads. Avoid a sharp, sweeping hookset; steady pressure allows a circle hook to rotate into position. Maintain tension during the fight and check the hook and leader after a fish or contact with structure.
Care and Handling
Dry used hooks before storage and keep them separate from unused stock. After saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly. Replace hooks with bent points, damaged eyes, or corrosion, and secure exposed points when handling or transporting rigs.
