The Surface Seducer Dragon Eyes by Flymen Fishing Company are vibrant, impressionistic fly tying eyes designed to add a bold, attractor-style visual trigger to foam poppers, surface bugs, and streamer flies. Specifically sized and engineered to fit the full range of Surface Seducer Double Barrel popper bodies and Fish-Skull streamer tying components, Dragon Eyes take a finished fly’s visual appeal to the next level by adding a large, bright, high-contrast eye that bass, pike, and predatory saltwater species instinctively target. 20 eyes per pack. Why Eye Size & Placement Matter on Predator Flies

Predatory fish key on the eye of their prey as the primary targeting reference point — a behavioral trait consistent across bass, pike, tarpon, and most other predatory species. An eye that is proportionally large relative to the fly’s body size is a stronger attractor trigger than a proportionally correct, smaller eye, because it reads as a larger, more vulnerable prey item at close range. On foam poppers and surface bugs, which are typically fished with pauses where the fly sits motionless on the surface, a bold, high-contrast Dragon Eye continues to produce a visual trigger for fish approaching the stationary fly from below or from the side — an attack angle where the eye is the most visible element of the fly’s head profile. On streamer flies, where the fly is moving continuously, the Dragon Eye fires with reflected light at every change in direction and every strip, adding a directional flash that mimics a live baitfish’s eye catching ambient light.

Installation Methods

• With Hard Clear Coat (Epoxy or Hard-as-Nails) — position the Dragon Eye in the eye socket of the foam popper body before applying the clear coat; the epoxy or Hard-as-Nails seals the eye deep inside the finished body, producing a smooth, durable, professional finish that protects the eye from impact damage; recommended for foam popper bodies that will receive a hard finish coat as the final step in the tying process
• Without Clear Coat — Super Glue or UV Epoxy — use a water-resistant super glue or UV light-hardening epoxy to adhere the Dragon Eye directly to the fly body; apply a small drop to the back of the eye, position it in the socket or on the flat surface of the head, hold for 5–10 seconds, then cure under UV light if using UV epoxy; suitable for foam bodies, streamer heads, and any application where a hard clear coat is not part of the tying process
