Throwback Baits Metro Glide LT 7" FT Trout

Metro Glide LT in FT Trout

The Throwback Baits Metro Glide LT brings the original handmade Metro Glide design to a production-molded ABS platform. This FT Trout version measures 7 inches and weighs 2.5 ounces, with a two-piece body and size #2 hooks.

The LT is designed to swim similarly to the original resin version. Use a steady retrieve to learn its rhythm, then vary your reel turns and pauses to change the presentation along a clear stretch of water.

How to Fish It

Choose a rod rated to cast a 2.5 oz lure, with line and terminal tackle suited to the setup. Make controlled casts with a clear path behind and beside you. Check the lure's movement near the bank or boat before starting a long retrieve.

Begin with steady reel turns. Try a brief pause followed by a short turn of the handle, keeping enough contact to follow the bait without pulling it through every change of direction. Watch how it responds and adjust the cadence rather than working the rod continuously.

Cast along cover edges with room for an unobstructed retrieve. When a fish commits and you feel its weight, reel down and make a controlled hookset. Maintain steady pressure during the fight, then check the knot, line, hooks, and joint before casting again.

Care

Inspect the joint, hooks, and attachment hardware before fishing. After saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly before storage. Secure hooks during transport. If replacing hooks or hardware, check that the new components clear the joint and do not change the lure's movement.
