The Headbanger Shad 9" is the trophy-size Headbanger — combining the brand's patented erratic, evasive body movement with a fixed, replaceable paddle tail for a swimming action that triggers even the most lethargic fish. Nine inches of full-size meal for the biggest predators in the system. Fish it with a simple straight retrieve, or dial it in with long pauses and twitches. Available in three buoyancies to cover 0–13 ft and 15 colors.

How to Fish It

• Floating (0–5 ft) — the go-to early and late season over shallow weed flats when pike and musky sit high; work the outside weed edges with a straight retrieve and occasional twitches; pauses let it rise and stay in the zone
• Suspending (5–8.5 ft) — the follower killer; on the pause it hangs dead-still in the water column — the critical trigger moment for musky that are tracking but won't commit on a moving bait; slow retrieve with extended pauses is the trophy play
• Sinking (6.5–13 ft) — built for deeper weed edges, drop-offs, rock bars, and suspended fish in cold water; count it down to depth and slow roll with pauses along structure
• Trolling — troll at low to moderate speeds along weed lines, channel edges, and open-water bait schools; the action holds and the erratic movement draws reaction strikes from fish that ignore standard crankbaits
