How to Fish It

Pair the jig with a small ice-fishing bait that fits the hook without covering the point. Lower it to the depth you want to fish, then start with gentle rod-tip shakes and short lifts followed by pauses.

Adjust the pause length and jigging movement before changing depth. Watch the line for subtle movement or unexpected slack, reel into contact when you detect a bite, and use a controlled hookset suited to your tackle. Check the knot and hook after each fish.
