Fast-Dropping Stogie for Bottom and Pelagic Presentations

The Kraken Jigz Stogie Slow Pitch Jig combines a substantial body with a fast-dropping design. Available in a 150g weight and Gold or Sardine colors, it is intended for fishing in moderate current or little to no current.

Work it near bottom structure for grouper and snapper, or through the depth band of pelagic fish such as tuna, mackerel, wahoo, and cobia. Match your tackle to the target fish and conditions.

Key Features

  • Stogie slow pitch jig by Kraken Jigz
  • 150g weight
  • Gold and Sardine color options
  • Fast-dropping design
  • For bottom and pelagic fish presentations
  • For moderate current or little to no current

How to Fish It

Use a compatible slow pitch setup rated for 150g and rig the jig with suitable hooks and connections. Lower it under control to your intended depth.

Start with short lifts and measured reel turns followed by controlled falls. Adjust lift height and pauses to suit the Stogie's response. Watch for sudden slack, stops, or changes in line direction during descent.

For bottom presentations, lift clear of structure before the next fall to reduce snagging. For suspended pelagic fish, work the depth band where fish are holding rather than returning to bottom each time. Reposition or choose a different weight if current and drift make line control difficult.

Inspect hooks and connections before each session, then rinse and dry saltwater-exposed tackle before storage.
