Strike King KVD 300 Deep Suspending Jerkbait
The Strike King KVD 300 Deep brings a dart-and-pause presentation farther down the water column. Developed with input from Kevin VanDam, this 4.5-inch suspending jerkbait combines side-to-side movement with roll and flash for fishing deep points, bluff walls, ledges, and suspended baitfish patterns.
At 3/5 ounce, it uses an internal weight-transfer system to help with casting distance. Its listed diving depth reaches up to 11 feet, giving you a deeper-running option when bass or walleye are holding below a shallow jerkbait's range. Running depth and suspension vary with line, retrieve, water temperature, and tackle setup.

How to Fish It
Make a long cast past the area you want to cover and crank the bait down before beginning your jerkbait cadence. Work it with short rod-tip snaps followed by pauses, allowing a little slack after each snap so the bait can dart rather than track straight toward you.
Start with one or two twitches and a pause, then vary the rhythm. Try longer pauses around cold or hesitant fish and a quicker cadence when fish are actively following bait. Watch the line during each pause; if it moves unexpectedly or the rod loads, reel up slack and sweep into the fish with controlled pressure.
Work above suspended fish or along the depth change rather than driving the bill into the bottom. Match the lure to your rod's casting rating and adjust your line and retrieve to suit the available depth. The listed 11-foot depth is a reference, not a guaranteed running depth on every cast.
Care and Storage
Check hook points, split rings, the bill, and your knot after hard contact or a fish. Let the lure dry before putting it away. Keep replacement hooks and rings close to the original configuration, since changing hardware can alter suspension and action.
