Strike King KVD Sexy Dawg Hard Knock
The Strike King KVD Sexy Dawg Hard Knock pairs a walk-the-dog surface presentation with a deep-sounding internal knock chamber. Developed with input from Kevin VanDam, it offers a different sound to work into your topwater rotation when covering points, flats, grass edges, and open-water feeding areas.
This 4.5-inch, 5/8-ounce walking bait is made for freshwater presentations to largemouth and smallmouth bass. Choose from Carolina Chrome, Sexy Shad, Bone, and Natural Shad, then vary your walking cadence and pauses to suit the response you get.

How to Fish It
Use a rod rated for the 5/8-ounce lure and make a cast past the area you want to cover. With the rod tip low, use short rhythmic twitches while recovering line between movements. Leave a little slack after each twitch so the bait can swing side to side rather than being pulled straight toward you.
Begin with a steady walking rhythm, then try brief pauses or changes in pace. Work alongside grass and dock edges through clear lanes rather than pulling the exposed hooks into cover. Around surface-feeding fish, cast beyond the activity and bring the bait through its edge.
When a fish strikes, avoid reacting only to the splash. Recover slack and wait until you feel the fish before applying controlled pressure. If the bait stops walking cleanly, check for fouled hooks or debris before the next cast.
Storage and Care
Inspect the line tie, body, hooks, and attachment hardware before fishing. Dry the lure before storage and keep hooks separated from other tackle. When replacing hooks or hardware, match the original size and weight as closely as possible, then check the surface action again.
