Lew's MACH 1 7-Foot Medium Baitcast Combo
The Lew's MACH 1 Baitcast Combo pairs a 7-foot, Medium-power IM7 graphite rod with a low-profile baitcasting reel. Choose right- or left-hand retrieve to match the hand you use to turn the handle.
The reel features a 7+1 stainless steel bearing system, externally adjustable Multi-Setting Brake system, and Rulon drag. Use the combo for freshwater presentations matched to the rod's printed line and lure ratings, from spinnerbaits and crankbaits to appropriately weighted jigs and Texas rigs.

Setup and Casting
Secure the reel in the reel seat and thread line through every guide. Spool according to the reel's instructions and capacity markings, using line within the rod's recommended range. Check the weight of the complete rig, including hooks, sinkers, and trailers, against the rod's lure rating.
Follow the reel's instructions to set spool tension and MSB controls for your lure. Start with conservative braking and short practice casts. Use your thumb to manage spool speed and stop the spool as the lure lands, then adjust in small steps as wind and lure weight change.
Medium power is not a substitute for a specific casting-weight rating, so avoid overloading the rod with heavy rigs. Set drag to suit the line, knots, hook, and rod, and use a net or suitable landing tool instead of lifting fish with the combo.
Care and Storage
Wipe down the rod and reel after fishing and let them dry before storage. Check guides and line for damage, protect the tip during transport, and keep the reel clear of sand. Follow Lew's instructions for cleaning and lubrication rather than pressure-spraying the reel.
