How to Fish It

Match the hook to the bait size and the rest of your tackle. Rig the bait with the point and gap exposed, checking that the bait cannot fold over the point or crowd the gap.

When a fish takes the bait, let the line come tight and build steady pressure by reeling rather than making a sharp hookset. Maintain tension as the rod loads. Inspect the hook, leader, and connections after each fish or snag, and rinse and dry the hooks after saltwater use.
