Engel Original 13-Quart Live Bait Drybox Cooler
Keep bait close at hand without reaching around a hanging tray. The Engel Original 13-Quart Live Bait Drybox Cooler uses a pull-out net for retrieving bait and changing water, with the air-tube port positioned in the lid to leave more room inside.
The included Gen2 2-Speed 2x2 portable air pump supplies aeration through a flexible silicone hose and weighted air stone. An insulated body helps limit temperature changes during the day, while recessed handles and a shoulder strap give you options for carrying it between the truck, dock, and boat.

Using It for Live Bait
Fill with water suitable for the bait species, allowing room for the net, bait, and water movement. Route the hose through the lid port, place the weighted air stone in the water, and keep the pump housing outside the cooler and out of standing water. Follow Engel's instructions for pump mounting and power connections.
Start aeration before loading bait and check water temperature, bait condition, and airflow throughout the trip. Aeration does not replace appropriate stocking levels or water changes. Avoid abrupt temperature changes when adding water, and do not leave the cooler in a hot vehicle.
This cooler includes the standard Gen2 pump, not the separately sold rechargeable aerator. Use only a manufacturer-approved power adapter when connecting to a vehicle or boat power source.
Cleaning and Storage
Remove unused bait and water after each trip. Clean and rinse the cooler, net, and hose as directed by Engel, keeping cleaning residue away from future bait water. Do not submerge the pump housing. After saltwater exposure, rinse suitable components with fresh water and let everything dry before storage.
For dry storage, empty and thoroughly dry the interior first. Keep the aerator and its electrical connections protected from water; a gasketed cooler lid does not make the complete aeration setup submersible.
