How to Fish It

Add a soft-plastic trailer that fits the hook and rig it straight, keeping the hook point clear. Match the rod's lure rating to the combined weight of the jig and trailer.

Cast beyond the structure you want to fish and let the jig reach bottom. Begin with short drags and pauses, moving it with the rod before recovering slack with the reel. Use enough line contact to notice changes in pressure without constantly pulling the jig forward.

Choose a weight that lets you maintain useful bottom contact for the depth, wind, and current. If the head wedges between rocks, change your pulling angle rather than forcing it with the rod. Check the line for abrasion and inspect the hook after contact with rock or shell.

Care

Remove debris from the skirt and hook after fishing. Inspect the hook point and skirt attachment before reuse, rinse as needed, and dry thoroughly before storage. Replace torn trailers so they remain straight on the hook.
