Why Circle Hooks

Circle hooks are self-setting — when a fish picks up the bait and moves off with it, the hook rotates and the point catches in the corner of the jaw rather than in the throat or gut. The result is a high jaw-hookup rate with minimal gut hooking, which matters both for landing percentage on hard-mouthed species like catfish and for catch-and-release survival when regulations require it. The offset tip on the ROYAL Circle Hook adds additional hook-up aggression to the self-setting rotation, increasing the rate at which the point catches on the initial pull.
