The thin, light wire design minimizes resistance through small soft plastics and live baits — letting the bait move with maximum natural action on the fall and during a slow retrieve. Chemically sharpened to a consistent micro-sharp point that drives through a fish’s jaw on the light hookset pressure available with finesse tackle (6–10 lb fluorocarbon, spinning gear). Why Wire Gauge Matters in Finesse Fishing

In finesse fishing, you’re typically throwing small baits on light line with a spinning rod — which limits both the hookset force you can generate and the amount of resistance the bait can absorb without losing action. A heavy-wire hook in a small size compresses a soft plastic bait and restricts its movement on the fall and during a slow retrieve. A light-wire hook penetrates the soft plastic with less resistance, preserving the bait’s natural shape and action. Best Finesse Applications
