Simply Shaky 7'1" Spinning Rod

The Pulse Fish Simply Shaky is a 7-foot-1-inch fast-action spinning rod for finesse shaky heads, wacky rigs, and Ned rigs. Rated for 6–12 lb line and 1/8–5/8 oz lures, it gives you a dedicated option for working soft plastics with controlled movements and pauses.

Its blank combines Japanese Toray 40T high-modulus carbon fiber with Pulse MDML technology. Fuji K-concept guides, a graphite Team Pulse reel seat, and a custom high-density EVA grip complete the rod.

Setup and Fishing Guidance

Pair it with a compatible spinning reel and line within the 6–12 lb rating. Include the soft plastic, hook or jighead, sinker, and other components when checking the full rig against the 1/8–5/8 oz lure range.

With a shaky head, let the bait settle, then use small tip movements and pauses without constantly dragging it out of position. For a wacky rig, watch the line during the fall and recover slack before setting the hook. With a Ned rig, alternate short bottom drags with rests and adjust the pace to the cover and depth.

Set drag pressure to suit the line and hook rather than relying on a hard hookset with light-wire hooks. Check the line after contact with rocks or wood, and use a net to land fish instead of lifting them with the rod.

Care

Wipe the blank, guides, reel seat, and grip after fishing and let the rod dry before storage. Inspect guide inserts for chips or rough spots that could damage line. Protect the tip in transit and avoid sharply bending it under load or using the rod to pull a snag free.
