A Rat-Profile Topwater with a Splashing Retrieve
The Invasive Lures Splash Rat combines a rodent silhouette with a water-scooping trailing blade. As you retrieve, the blade throws water behind the bait and adds resistance that gives the body a tight wobble, leaving a visible wake across the surface.
Fish it along shoreline cover, pad lanes, and grass openings for largemouth bass and snakehead. Its soft silicone-latex body compresses under pressure, and an internal weight secured directly to the hook helps balance the lure.

How to Fish It
Use a rod rated for the lure and braided line suited to the cover. Cast along an open grass lane or shoreline edge, then start with a steady retrieve that lets the trailing blade scoop water and the body wobble. Adjust speed while watching the bait rather than assuming the fastest retrieve will produce the best action.
Try a slower crawl across calm pockets, or add a short burst followed by a pause near cover. Keep the trailing blade clear of grass; if the splash or wobble changes, bring the bait in and remove any fouling before the next cast.
When a fish strikes, wait until you feel it load the line before setting the hook firmly. Check the body, hook alignment, blade attachment, and knot after fish or cover contact. Let the lure dry before storing it.
