The Stack Tackle Beletti is a topwater hard bait built to draw explosive surface strikes from predatory fish that are keyed on fleeing baitfish at the surface. The floating design works the surface film on a walk-the-dog retrieve, creating the erratic side-to-side darting action that triggers reaction strikes from striped bass, snook, bluefish, tarpon, speckled trout, and largemouth bass that won’t commit to subsurface presentations. Thru-wire construction runs the hook connection through the full length of the lure body — the hardware can’t pull out under the torque of a large fish’s head shake. BKK hooks provide premium out-of-box sharpness and strong wire gauge for saltwater applications. Oversized eyes add realism and create an aiming point for predators tracking the lure from below. How to Fish It

• Walk the Dog — Striped Bass, Bluefish, Snook, Tarpon — cast past or beyond the feeding zone and work the rod tip with short, rhythmic downward twitches on a semi-slack line while slowly reeling in the slack; the Beletti will dart left and right in an erratic side-to-side walk with each twitch; keep the rod tip low (pointed at the water) and develop a steady twitch cadence; the pause between twitches is the trigger — most strikes come when the lure momentarily stops and sits; vary twitch speed and pause length until the fish commit; this is the primary technique for blitzing bass and bluefish on breaking bait
• Slow Straight Retrieve — Speckled Trout, Weakfish, Redfish — cast and retrieve at a slow, steady pace just fast enough to keep the lure swimming in the surface film without diving; the Beletti produces a natural side-to-side roll on a slow straight retrieve that mimics a wounded or disoriented baitfish; effective over shallow grass flats, in back bays, and around dock edges where fish are holding and ambushing rather than actively chasing surface bait; also the right technique when fish are rising to the surface but not aggressively blitzing
• Pop-and-Pause — Largemouth Bass, Snook in Structure — cast to cover (docks, mangroves, grass edges, laydowns) and work the lure with a sharp downward rod sweep followed by a long pause of 3–5 seconds; the sweep pushes water and creates a commotion that gets attention; the pause lets the lure sit motionless on the surface, which is when ambush predators that were triggered by the commotion strike; repeat the pop-and-pause sequence back to the boat; particularly effective for largemouth bass in the early morning and evening topwater window and for snook around dock and mangrove structure
