Ice Strong Outdoors Steel Connects Termination Kits provide crimp-sleeve and heat-shrink components for making connections at the ends of weighted steel fishing line. Keep a kit ready when it is time to replace a connection or rework a trolling setup.

Choose the standard Steel Connects pack or the Steel Connects Pro Pack with swivels. Both contain 20 termination kits, enough for two terminations on each of 10 rods.

Pack Options

  • Steel Connects: 20 steel-line termination kits.
  • Steel Connects Pro Pack: 20 steel-line termination kits plus 20 size #3 Ice Strong Outdoors swivels.
  • Application: weighted steel fishing line terminations.
  • Listed strength: 80 lb. The strength of an assembled connection depends on compatible components and correct installation; this is not a guarantee for the complete rig.

Installation and Use

Slide the heat-shrink section and crimp sleeve onto the weighted steel line before passing the line through the swivel. Return the steel tag end through the sleeve, then secure the sleeve using a suitable crimping tool and the component manufacturer's instructions. Position the heat shrink over the finished sleeve and apply controlled heat as directed for the tubing.

Use the same termination approach at the other end of the weighted steel section where required. Inspect and carefully test each completed connection before fishing. Choose swivels and other components appropriate for the line and intended setup. Additional Ice Strong Outdoors swivels are available here.

Important Heat Precaution

Do not place heat shrink or apply heat of any kind near backing or leader material. Keep heat confined to the intended steel-line termination, away from heat-sensitive line and other components. Follow the tubing and tool instructions rather than exposing the surrounding rig to an open flame.

Care and Inspection

Check terminations for slipping, damaged tubing, sharp edges, corrosion, and worn line before each trip and after heavy loads or snags. Replace compromised components rather than relying on a visibly damaged connection. Dry tackle before storage.
