The Submission Fishing Co. Ogre was built to fill the gap between a speed jig and a slow pitch jig — the knife-style, center-balanced profile descends fast enough to reach mid-column and bottom quickly in strong current and at depth, then kicks into a fluttering, rolling fall that triggers reaction strikes from fish that ignore conventional plastics, irons, and bait. Through-wire construction for the strength to handle bluefin, yellowtail, and large rockfish without hardware failure. Available in 80g, 200g, and 300g across 4 colors.

How to Fish It

• Slow Pitch Vertical — drop to structure or the bottom and work a slow, rhythmic lift-and-fall; the Ogre’s knife profile reaches depth fast; the flutter and roll on the controlled fall is where most strikes occur — stay in contact
• High-Speed Retrieve — aggressive rod sweeps with the Ogre swimming erratically on the way up; effective for bluefin and yellowtail tracking an ascending jig in the water column; the center-balanced profile swims with a tight, unpredictable action on the retrieve
• Weight Selection — 80g for nearshore and moderate offshore depths (up to ~150 ft, light to moderate current); 200g for mid-depth offshore and strong tidal current; 300g for deep structure and maximum current where the 200g loses its vertical presentation
