The Submission Fishing Co. Samurai Slow Pitch Jig is the heavyweight offshore tier in the Submission lineup — 400g, 500g, and 600g built for deep structure, high current, and the species that live at the bottom of the water column. The defining design feature is the ribbed armor profile: ribs along the jig body mimic the layered armor of a Japanese samurai and generate an erratic, twirling action on the fall that imitates a dying baitfish. Large and heavy enough to reach extreme depth and hold vertical in strong offshore current, but balanced for the fluid, sweeping slow pitch action that triggers strikes from bluefin tuna, grouper, rockfish, and tilefish. How to Fish It

• Slow Pitch Vertical — the primary method; drop to structure or the bottom and work a slow, rhythmic rod lift with the reel on the fall; the Samurai’s ribbed body generates its erratic twirl on every controlled drop; most strikes come on the fall — stay in contact with a stiff slow pitch rod and sensitive braid
• High-Speed Erratic Retrieve — aggressive rod sweeps with the Samurai swimming on the retrieve; the erratic swimming action works as a dying baitfish imitation on the way up; effective for bluefin and other pelagics that chase an ascending jig
• Weight Selection — 400g for deep reef and moderate offshore current (200–400 ft); 500g for deep wrecks and strong tidal current; 600g for extreme depth applications and maximum current where vertical presentation is critical
