Cut-Resistant Leaders for Topwater Frog Fishing

The Invasive Lures Frog Leash adds a flexible Kevlar leader between your line and topwater lure. Designed for snakehead and heavy-cover bass fishing, it offers cut resistance around teeth and abrasive cover without the rigid feel of a wire leader. Cut-resistant does not mean bite-proof: inspect the leader regularly and replace it when damaged.

Each leader is handmade with a loop-style lure connection and a one-piece stainless steel ring. Sold in packs of three, the Frog Leash is intended for hollow body frogs and can also be used with compatible popping frogs and rat lures.

The ring rating is a component rating, not a guarantee of the strength of the complete rig. Knots, connections, wear, and your main line also affect overall strength.

How to Use It

Connect your main line to the stainless steel ring and secure the loop-style end to a compatible lure according to the maker's connection instructions. Check that the loop seats securely and does not interfere with the lure's hooks, face, or moving parts. Test the lure beside you before casting to confirm that it walks, pops, or swims as intended.

Match your rod, line, and drag to the fishing conditions rather than the leader rating alone. Inspect the Kevlar, ring, and connections after each fish and after pulling through rough cover. Replace any leader showing cuts, fraying, or damaged hardware.
