Throwback Baits Metro Glide LT 7" Tilapia

Metro Glide LT in Tilapia

The Throwback Baits Metro Glide LT carries the handmade Metro Glide design into a production-molded ABS platform. This Tilapia version measures 7 inches and weighs 2.5 ounces, with a two-piece body and size #2 hooks.

Designed to swim similarly to the original resin version, the LT lets you explore glide-bait presentations with changes in reel cadence. Start with a steady rhythm, then add pauses and short reel turns while watching how the bait responds.

How to Fish It

Use a rod rated to cast a 2.5 oz lure, with line and terminal tackle suited to your setup. Make controlled casts with room behind and beside you. Check the bait's movement close to the bank or boat before beginning a long retrieve.

Begin with steady reel turns and enough line contact to follow the lure. Try a brief pause or a short burst of reel speed, then return to your starting cadence. Avoid pulling the bait through every change of direction with continuous rod pressure.

Work parallel to cover edges where you have a clear retrieve path. When a fish commits and you feel its weight, reel down and make a controlled hookset. Keep steady pressure during the fight, and inspect your knot, line, hooks, and joint after each fish or contact with cover.

Care

Check the joint, hooks, and attachment hardware before fishing. After saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly before storage. Secure hooks during transport. If replacing hooks or hardware, check that the new components do not interfere with the joint or alter the lure's movement.
