How to Fish It

Cast past your target when possible, let the frog settle, and take up enough slack to control it. Use short pulls of the rod tip to pop the bait, then give it a pause. Try longer pauses beside cover and shorter pauses when covering open lanes.

Keep the line clear of loose vegetation so you can maintain contact. After a strike, reel down until you feel the fish's weight before setting the hook firmly. Check the hook point and body after a fish or snag, and drain any accumulated water if the frog begins riding lower.
