Bull Shad Swimbaits Wake Gill 6"

Wake Gill 6-Inch Wake Bait

The Wake Gill from Bull Shad Swimbaits puts a 6-inch gill profile into a wake-bait presentation. Choose from Blue Gill, Bone, and Emerald Gill to round out your lineup.

Start with a slow, steady retrieve and watch the bait as it comes back. Working it within sight lets you adjust your speed and find a cadence that keeps the presentation where you want it.

How to Fish It

Match your rod's lure rating to the bait in hand and use line and terminal tackle suited to the setup. Make a short test cast to find the retrieve speed that produces a wake before casting farther.

Work along shoreline cover and through open lanes, leaving the bait room to travel. Begin with steady reel turns, then try a short pause or a small speed change. Watch its response and adjust rather than retrieving at one fixed speed all day.

On a surface strike, wait until you feel the fish's weight before reeling down and setting the hook. Inspect your knot, line, and the lure's hardware after a fish or contact with cover.

Care

Check the bait and hook hardware before fishing. Dry thoroughly before storage and secure hooks during transport. After saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water and dry before putting it away.
