Yo-Zuri Egi Aurie-Q "RS" Squid Jig

The Yo-Zuri Egi Aurie-Q "RS" is a traditional egi-style squid jig built for cast-and-retrieve squid fishing. The keel-weighted body produces a natural horizontal fall that triggers squid strikes on the sink. A rough-sided cloth jacket adds durability and, critically, helps squid grip and hold on when they attack the lure — increasing your hookup rate. Available in three luminous colorways: Pink, White, and Green.

Unlike hi-lo or sabiki multi-lure rigs, the Aurie-Q RS is designed to be fished as a single lure on its own leader. It excels in land-based situations — marinas, lit piers, and calm-water night fishing where squid are schooling near the surface.

How to Fish It

• Cast and retrieve (eging) — Cast to your target area and let the jig sink on a semi-slack line. Work it with slow, steady retrieves broken up by sharp rod jerks followed by a pause — the jig darts, then falls horizontally back into the strike zone. Most strikes happen on the fall.
• Night fishing near lights — Luminous colorways charge up and glow underwater, making them especially effective around lit docks, piers, and marinas where squid gather near the surface at night.
• Calm water situations — Most effective in low-current environments. In heavy current, switch to a weighted hi-lo rig setup instead.
