Yo-Zuri Mag Pencil

The Yo-Zuri Mag Pencil is a saltwater surface pencil lure built on a patented sled magnetic weight transfer system. At rest, internal weights shift forward; at the cast, they lock to the tail for a tight, tail-first trajectory that significantly extends casting distance even into a headwind. Available in two sizes — 8" / 3-1/3 oz and 6-1/2" / 2-1/4 oz — and five colors: Bone, Yellow, Black Back, Pearl Bunker, and Bone Chartreuse. Through-wire construction with heavy-duty hooks and split rings for saltwater durability.

How to Fish It

• Walk the dog — Cast out and work with a rhythmic side-to-side rod tip action to produce a walk-the-dog surface motion. Vary the cadence to dial in what the fish are responding to on a given day.
• Striped bass and bluefish — The larger 8" / 3-1/3 oz size is well-suited for surf and boat fishing around bait schools, rips, and structure where stripers and bluefish are pushing bait to the surface.
• Finesse presentation — The 6-1/2" / 2-1/4 oz size works on a lighter setup when fish are keying on smaller bait or in calmer conditions where a slightly smaller profile is more appropriate.
