Z-Man ChatterBait JackHammer 1/2 oz Bladed Jig
The Z-Man ChatterBait JackHammer pairs a flat-bottom head with a thin stainless steel blade for quick-start vibration and an erratic swimming action. Designed with EverGreen International, this 1/2-ounce bladed jig gives you a low-profile head-and-blade combination that helps it deflect off cover.
A Gamakatsu heavy-wire flipping hook, double-wire trailer keeper, and hand-tied silicone skirt complete the presentation. Choose California Craw or Smallmouth Magic, then fit your preferred soft-plastic trailer to adjust the profile while keeping the hook gap and blade clear.

How to Fish It
Thread a suitably sized soft-plastic trailer straight onto the double-wire keeper, taking care around the wire and hook point. Leave the hook gap open and check that the skirt and blade move freely. Select tackle rated for the complete rig, including the trailer, and suited to the heavy-wire hook.
Start with a steady swim along vegetation edges or beside cover with an open retrieve path. Let the jig sink to the depth you want to fish before winding. Make a short test retrieve beside you to check the trailer's alignment and find a pace that maintains blade vibration.
Use your countdown, rod angle, and retrieve speed to adjust depth. Add a short acceleration or brief pause, then resume the swim. After contact with cover, stay ready for a bite as the lure changes direction, but don't assume its deflecting design makes the exposed hook snag-proof.
Keep contact during pauses and reel into pressure when a fish takes the lure before setting the hook with controlled force. If the vibration changes, check for weeds, debris, or a twisted trailer before casting again.
Care and Storage
Rinse after use and let the jig dry before storing it. Inspect the hook point, blade connection, and double-wire keeper regularly. Clear debris that could restrict movement, secure the hook in your tackle box, and leave the hand-tied skirt loose rather than compressed beneath other lures.
