Z-Man ChatterBait JackHammer StealthBlade 1/2 oz Bladed Jig

The Z-Man ChatterBait JackHammer StealthBlade uses a clear polycarbonate blade to reduce flash while delivering a distinctive sound and vibration. This 1/2-ounce bladed jig offers a more subtle presentation for clear water and pressured fish.

Developed with EverGreen International, it combines a low-center-of-gravity head with a hand-tied silicone skirt. The lighter-wire Decoy fluorine nanocoated hook supports finesse presentations, while dual wire keepers hold your chosen soft-plastic trailer in position.

How to Fish It

Thread a suitably sized soft-plastic trailer straight onto the dual wire keepers, taking care around the hook point and wire. Leave the hook gap open and check that the blade and skirt move freely. Choose tackle rated for the complete rig, including the trailer, and use pressure suited to the lighter-wire hook.

Start with a smooth, steady swim along open cover edges or across areas holding baitfish. Let the jig reach your chosen depth before winding. Test it beside you to check that the trailer sits straight and find a retrieve pace that keeps the blade working.

Try small changes in speed rather than constant hard rod snaps. Add a brief pause and maintain contact as the lure falls, then return to a steady retrieve. Adjust your countdown, rod angle, and pace to stay near the depth fish are using.

When a fish takes it, reel into pressure and use a controlled hookset rather than an aggressive snap. If the vibration changes, check for debris or a trailer that has shifted. Work through clear lanes instead of forcing the exposed hook through obstructions.

Care and Storage

Rinse after use and let the jig dry before storage. Inspect the clear blade, hook point, and wire keepers regularly, removing debris that could restrict movement. Secure the hook and protect the polycarbonate blade from being crushed beneath other tackle. Leave the hand-tied skirt loose rather than compressed.
