How to Fish It

Thread the body straight onto a compatible micro jighead, using the hook slot to help align the rig. Leave the segmented tail free and check that it isn't wrapped around the hook. Choose a head weight suited to the depth and current, keeping the complete rig within your rod's casting rating.

For casting, let the jig reach the desired depth and retrieve slowly with small twitches and pauses. When fishing vertically, hold it near the fish and use tiny lifts or a nearly still presentation. The slender tail doesn't need large rod movements to quiver.

Beneath a float, set the bait at the depth fish are using and alternate short pulls with pauses. Watch for a dip, sideways slide, or unexpected lift of the float. For dock shooting, use tackle suited to the technique, keep the hook clear of your hands, and practice controlled presentations into open pockets.

When you detect a bite, reel up slack and use a controlled lift rather than a hard snap. Check the bait's alignment after each fish so the body tracks straight and the tail stays free.
