Z-Man Trout Eye Jigheads 3-Pack

Z-Man Trout Eye jigheads give your inshore soft-plastic rig oversized 3D eyes for a prominent visual target. A compact 2/0 Mustad hook provides strength, while twin keeper spikes help hold ElaZtech or traditional soft baits on the shank.

Pair them with MinnowZ, appropriately sized DieZel MinnowZ, or other compatible inshore plastics, checking the fit before rigging. Choose from three head weights and the available colors for each weight. Each pack contains three jigheads.

How to Fish It

Lay your plastic beside the 2/0 hook to locate its natural exit point. Thread the bait straight onto the shank and carefully seat its nose over the twin keeper spikes. Leave the hook gap clear and avoid bending or bunching the body.

With a paddletail, begin with a steady swim along open grass edges, flats, or other clear retrieve paths. Make a short test retrieve where you can see the bait and correct its alignment if it rolls. Adjust your countdown and retrieve speed to find the depth you want to fish.

For a slower presentation, let the rig settle, then use short lifts and controlled pauses. Choose a head weight that lets you track the bait in the wind, current, and depth you are fishing without adding unnecessary weight. Match your tackle to the complete rig's casting weight, including the soft plastic.

Watch for sideways line movement or unexpected slack during the fall. Reel into pressure when you detect a bite, then set the hook with controlled force. Check the plastic's position after a fish or contact with cover. This exposed-hook setup is best worked through clear lanes rather than dense vegetation.

Care and Storage

Rinse after use, especially in saltwater, and let the jigheads dry before storage. Inspect hook points and keeper spikes for damage, replacing damaged heads. Secure hooks in your tackle box. Although the keepers accommodate both ElaZtech and traditional soft baits, store those materials separately to avoid incompatible plastics contacting one another.
