Z-Man TT Lures ChinlockZ SWS Weighted Hooks

TT Lures ChinlockZ SWS weighted hooks, distributed by Z-Man, let you rig ElaZtech swimbaits and jerkbaits weedless with weight carried beneath the body. A heavy-duty extra-wide-gap Mustad UltraPoint hook pairs with a molded chin keeper to hold the bait in place.

The rear-positioned belly weight promotes a balanced, slow-sinking presentation around cover. Choose a hook that fits your plastic, then select the weight for the depth and retrieve you want. Pack quantity varies by configuration, with two or three hooks per pack.

How to Fish It

Lay the hook beside your plastic first. Choose a size that leaves enough gap for the body to compress on a bite without placing the hook bend too far back in the bait. Rig the nose at the molded chin keeper, align the body, and pass the point through at its natural exit location. Lightly tuck the point into the plastic's surface for a weedless presentation.

Make a short test retrieve where you can see the bait. Correct any bend or twist in the rigging if it rolls or tracks unevenly. Start with a steady swim along vegetation edges or through clear lanes around cover. With a jerkbait-style plastic, try gentle twitches and pauses while watching the line during the fall.

Use the belly weight to help reach the depth you want, adjusting retrieve speed and countdown as needed. Actual sink rate depends on the chosen weight, plastic, line, and conditions. Match your rod and line to the heavy-duty hook and the complete rig's casting weight.

When a fish takes the bait, reel into pressure before setting the hook with controlled force. Check that the body still sits straight and the point remains tucked after each fish or contact with cover. Weedless rigging reduces hook exposure but does not eliminate snags.

Care and Storage

Rinse after use and allow the hooks to dry before storage. Inspect points, chin keepers, and belly weights for damage. Secure hooks in a divided tackle box and keep sizes and weights organized. Store ElaZtech baits separately from conventional soft plastics and other incompatible materials.
